39 Essex Chambers to support the Jamaica Arbitration week and Karen Gough to speak at the Jamaica International Arbitration Centre "Arbitration On The Move" Conference 2018

39 Essex Chambers is delighted to support the Jamaica Arbitration Week, which will take place in Kingston, Jamaica from the 24th until the 30th June 2018. Karen Gough is also to speak at the Jamaica International Arbitration Centre (JAIAC) "Arbitration On The Move" Conference.

Karen will be part of a panel to speak on Construction. The panel will consider the use of arbitration as a means of resolving construction disputes, including its role in multi-tiered dispute resolution approaches to international construction, engineering and major infrastructure projects. The moderator and panellists will explore the paradigm shift away from final and binding arbitration as the sole means of dispute resolution to the modern ADR regimes beginning with collaborative contracting, dispute avoidance, amicable settlement, dispute adjudication and arbitration under the auspices of international institutional rules such as UNCITRAL, ICC, and AIAC.
