Recently instructed in a High Court action, alongside Edwin Glasgow QC and Justin Levinson, on behalf of the Claimants in the ground breaking case of AXN & Others -v- John Worboys (1) Inceptum Insurance Company Limited (formally HSBC) (2), concerning the novel issue of an insurer’s liability under s145 and s151 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 to compensate victims of sexual assaults committed inside a black cab. She has wide experience of the more nuanced insurance arguments arising out of the Road Traffic Acts and in cases involving the MIB. Angela frequently advises in relation to policy coverage issues.
Angela has in depth experience in personal injury cases including brain damage and spinal injury cases. She is frequently instructed in Employer’s Liability claims, fatal accidents claims, Public Liability claims, and road traffic cases. Recent cases include: representing a Defendant in a High Court action arising out the Vauxhall Helicopter crash; representing a seriously injured Paralympic gold medallist cyclist.
Angela undertakes advisory, drafting, and advocacy work for the NHSLA, and for Claimants, in a variety of clinical negligence claims including complex and high value work.
Angela acts in relation to claims concerning property damage, disrepair claims and landlord and tenant disputes including subrogated recoveries.
Angela has experience acting for commercial companies, particularly where a dispute involves overlapping contract and common law issues. She has niche experience in compliance work having been part of a team of lawyers instructed to undertake internal investigations into alleged bribery and corruption in a number of international commercial companies which extended into a number of countries. This investigation was run in connection/conjunction with a US led SEC investigation.
