39 Essex Chambers barristers act for the PSNC in a landmark judicial review against the Department of Health

Alison Foster QC represented the PSNC in a high profile three-day judicial review against the decision of the Department of Health, taken in October 2016, to reduce funding for the community pharmacy sector. Saima Hanif, Catherine Dobson and Adam Boukraa were also instructed.

The matter raises a number of important legal issues surrounding the nature and extent of the duty of the Department of Health to consult with the PSNC before implementing the funding cuts.

The NPA was joined to the challenge as an interested party.

The judicial review has received extensive press coverage:

The Pharmaceutical Journal

Pharmacy Magazine

The Pharmacist

A decision in the matter is still awaited.
